Who hasn’t taken a shot like this?

I keep this card around my desk - you know - for THOSE days…

i’ve photographed her for over 6 years now — i never grow tired of taking her photo. i do - however - need to get back out and see the rest of the world… maybe i’ll take her along with me — she’s pretty good with a camera these days…

New Year. Where to begin?

I spent 10 years with flickr — it’s time to move on. I had a great time. Met lots of people - both virtually and in-person - learned so much about how social networking works - a lot about photography —- I can’t complain. I think it cost me less than 25 bucks a year for membership - and I had a place to experiment with my work - post things for family and friends - maybe raise a little hell every once in a while — laugh - cry - smirk - duck - voice an opinion or two…

Yeah - that was fun.

But now - I feel a need to get a little more serious. I have no idea what that means —- other than I need to start making more compelling images. I think I’ve managed to make a few over the last several decades of photographing the world around me — but, even after nearly 40 years of making photographs (okay, there was almost a 20 year hiatus in there while I worked on my business career) - somehow, I feel like I’m still in my second year of art school…

I just need to begin — again.

Look, let me put it this way: with me, you’re number one and there isn’t even a number two.
